Took leave of reason and handed GRP a lot of cash for some titanium wheel nuts, phone mount and a pair of their V4 rear lights.

The rear lights are supposed to have a reflector built in as per the factory versions. No such reflector was fitted and GRP seem entirely happy with that state of affairs.

Not sure whether to send them back along with the other bits or accept this is how they are. Have folk with them fitted had a problem when their cars are MOT'd?

I ordered a set and the default on the website is without the reflectors.

Did Greg just build / send the wrong ones (i.e. without the reflectors you ordered)?

Given the amount of money, my view would be to send them back and have the right one's come out.

My previous S1 had earlier version lights and I couldn't get them to work. Ended up selling them on eBay and sticking with OEM ones.

Without reflectors would the car fail an MOT?

I have asked what he will do but in truth his initial reaction has made me lose trust in his company. They were a lot of money and the small fact they are illegal in the UK and he does not seem bothered makes me wonder if they are returned will I ever get a refund.

Despite showing all the proof needed GRP say they are what they have sold and although I have seen his units with reflectors visible when illuminated he tells me what they sent is what they make. All quite annoying really.

I am never sure how attentive my MOT test station is and I suppose I could always put two temp stick on versions for the MOT if it was a problem - the insurance is the bigger concern.

Rear reflectors of some sort are mandatory to pass the MOT, see section 4.8

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-...

Looking at the Gregs website, they are US based so I wouldn't necessarily expect them to meet UK regulations, a quick google of US regulations says vehicles should have reflectors with at least 2 red ones on the back.

I think the question is do US spec Evoras have separate rear reflectors somewhere and UK spec one don't. Might explain why the Gregs parts don't have them.

The factory light units have reflectors embedded across their face. They are fitted to all markets whether they require them or not.

These lamps GRP are like many things aftermarket stylish and they do look good on my car but compromised in terms of approval and indeed compliance. The former I understood, the latter I was told was sorted with a fairly discrete reflector.

Sadly I was wong and need this corrected. Shame but there we are.

I thought the V4s were available “with” reflectors?

Did you order them “with” reflectors?

If they’ve shipped them not “as ordered” then surely they should let you return them for replacements?

Ordered with reflectors.

What they sent they believe has them when patently they do not. Lesson here is avoid them if you do not want to have to stick on additional reflectors to the back of your car.

Very surprisd at the way this has been handled by GRP and I personally will not buy anything from them again.

Why don’t you just return them and ask for the correct replacements to be sent out?

Sounds like the relationship has already ready gone sour, the OP should just send it all back and hope he gets some money back.
