W204 fitting new radiator

W204 2012 C350 petrol with M276 NA engine.

My radiator was leaking, so I bought a Nissens replacement, it's exactly the same size as the original.

The old one came out, although it was extremely tight with only just enough room to slide it up and out.

Now, despite trying for 2 hours, I can't get the new one to slide it, there's just not enough clearance at the sides.

Is it just me ? Any ideas ?

Offer it up against the old one, will the old one slide back in? It may give you a clue.

Thanks, putting old and new side by side, they appear identical.

I'll try again tomorrow morning. I'm hoping it's one of those jobs where you struggle for ages, then come back the following day & it goes straight in
