Hi all,

Going to look at 2011 330d touring on 102k miles at the weekend, I have been looking for a nice one for a while and this one seems to fit the bill. There are few cosmetics (mainly paint) on the front bumper and door that needs some attention but I think it will be fine with a good detail and polish.

The seller is after 7.5k for it and seems pretty set on that price (he wasnt fully set on selling it). It is an auto with full service history, to be honest looks very clean. He has an invoice for transmission fluid replaced (full ZF kit incl mech seals etc) along with the rear differential oil and general inspection at a cost of around £700, and also removal of the swirl flaps.

There is some surface corrosion around the boot seals, is that something to be concerned about?

Anything else I should be looking out for when I view it?

Thanks all

Is that private so not even with any warranty? Is that not a lot for a 14 (almost 15) year old Euro5 one of these especially with visible rust. No plans to sell this year but I was offered less than that to trade in my 2015 Euro6 full BMW SH 330D touring.

It is expensive but finding an e91 touring is near on impossible,

Ah missed that aspect. Had a 320d of those but much prefer the 8 speed auto box of the F31. Knew of the love and premium these days on decent E46's but hadn't realised E90 series had same.

I'd have a good look underneath for rust. I had a 320d of similar vintage some years ago which looked absolutely immaculate on the bodywork but underneath it was rapidly turning to bran flakes, which is why I sold it.

I paid £1200 for a 2008 (58) 320d Touring in immaculate condition a year ago. £7500 seems on the high side even for a 330D

I didn't realise these had rust issues. I would avoid at that price.

I'm not sure they do have rust issues. My 2005 330i doesn't have any, apart from an MOT advisory for corrosion on the rear subframe in 2024. Went to a different testing centre this year and no advisory so it can't be serious.

As OP says Tourings are very hard to find. When I was looking in 2019 they were about twice the price of Saloons, so I have a Saloon!

Not sure they have, 11 year old, 205k, north Scotland beside the sea and salty roads over winter.

Not seen anything to worry about, looked over last month when new timing chain installed.

Strange the rust around the boot of the one the OP is looking at though.

I don't think E9x do have rust issues. Our E91 330d is a 2008 with 177k miles and doesn't have any. They are pretty robust in that dept IMHO if a bit needy generally as they age. That tailgate rust is very odd on the OPs car.

I had not appreciated how few E91 touring with 3.0 engines were available. There are 24 on AT with a blend of petrols and diesels. Some crazy asking prices - wonder if they actually sell.

There looks to be an overlap in prices with early F31s. OP do you specifically want a 330d? If so then the F31 has the ZF8. LCI E91s have the N57 like the F31, whilst non LCIs have the M57. Ours is one of the very last M57s.

I do think 7.5k for a Euro 5, 14yr old diesel is a lot.

That sounds like a lot of £ for what it is, especially given the rust issue. Maybe it's had the tailgate refinished at some point in its life and the repaint has failed?!.

For ref I sold my partners 2015 F31 330d, 101k miles for £10k back in Jan.

Never seen rust around the rear glass like that on the E91, my 2012 E91 (172k) has rust at the bottom lip of the boot though.

I would be checking the underside, they do rust on subframes especially the rear subs at this age too.

It seems alot of money to me.
