We have an HSBC Business account

Yesterday we received a long email from them about resolution of 'our' complaint - quite detailed. The complaint was actually raised by someone who is a past customer but not us. I have traced him and forwarded it on - the mail addresses are quite different and there is no way I can think of that HSBC could have known a link

This must be the GDPR own goal of all time

You should raise a complaint about it jester

We ve had two things incorrectly delivered this festive season .both mixing addresses up!
Probs a GDPR error, but defo human errors…
All getting sorted, & we appear to be the proud owners of a new air fryer as a result. Some companies go the extra mile hehe

I was somehow added to an internal WhatsApp group of a well known car history checking company. They were discussing their promotions for Black Friday and the designs of various graphics to use. Not a very interesting story but the point is that these things happen, I didn’t feel the need to reply and point out to their mistake. See also the American intelligence leak earlier this year.

I had a nailed on GDPR complaint about Santander. I contacted anyone who should be remotely interested and nothing worthwhile happened.

GDPR in the context a normal person thinks it should apply doesn’t exist.

It’s a total waste of time.

The cost and time spent on GDPR (see 'low UK productivity') must be horrendous. I said 20 years ago that the UK would legislate itself to death and it's happening, even without the EU to invent more rules for us to obey.
