6 years after the first Control, a sequel.

Dont flame me for this, but I tried twice to get into the first one.

Got about 6 or 7 hours in and just got tired of it.

What was i missing? It should have appealed to my taste, just didn't suck me in.

Is it worth another crack, before the sequel?

That setting looks amazing. Not sure about the animesque giant hammer melee weapon shown though.

I enjoyed the first for its Xfiles vibe and after initial frustration I really got into the combat with the modular gun.

I'm a sucker for psionics too, so blasting away a boss while levitating then throwing up a shield for its counterattack was a lot of fun.

The trailer looks amazing and it looks like they have really expanded the horizons of the game's story and setting rather than just doing what could pass for a large DLC.

The new combat did look just a little DMC-ish though, not necessarily a bad thing. I loved the original so definitely will be getting this.

I don't think that large hammer will be a standard weapon, looks to be in a specific area/special power moment.

One of my kids mentioned this to me earlier this week but I'd not seen the trailer until now. I greatly enjoyed the first one, one of the later game sections is one of my favourite ever, will definitely be buying this when it arrives.

For me I loved the whole atmosphere and the weird SCP/backrooms type vibe of the gameworld. The architecture of 'The Oldest House' really grabbed me. The combat was fun too - awesome character powers but pretty accesible and made for fluid battles.

I didn't think I would like it as it seemed to just be a tech-demo for RTX cards whenever I would see it mentioned, and avoided it - but it just hooked me in when I finally started playing it (got it in a Humble Bundle). Bought, completed and enjoyed both the DLCs too.
