I'm thinking of arranging a stream train day out for 2026. Probably the early part of the year, around March.

Can anyone recommend any they have been on in the UK?

I like the idea of a fine dining experience as that won't be weather dependent.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I ve done a Belmond London to Bath dining experience (2 years ago

We went full bore (dad s big birthday) and went for the Wes Anderson private carriage. Food exceeded expectations (often these things are hard to live up to the price tag).

We d do it again and even looked at a small overnight trip in from Edinburgh but that was eye watering.

Drinks flowed the whole day and you always had someone on hand to top you up or get something.

We used Belmond in Peru and they were exceptional.

I don't know where you are in the country but the Watercress line is good with a variety of options. https://watercressline.co.uk/
