Hi does anyone know if you can have a tow bar fitted to your Continental GT? a detachable one would be preferred if anyone has any ideas it would help alot as i dearly dont want to sell the car but need to tow a small trailer every now and again.
Can one be made if there's nothing off the shelf?

Thanks

Towbars must now be type approved. If very few of the owners of a particular vehicle are likely to use them for towing, then no-one will go through the expense of type approval to sell a couple of units. So unless you can find one made to fit the car you're a bit stuck.

Also on a sticky wicket license and insurance-wise as the car won't have a plated towing weight because it isn't homologated for it.

Discussed previously here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I'm in the same boat with my E46 M3, would like to occasionally tow with it but no can do.

Agree with the above. Once asked about a tow bar on my E55 estate. The service manager at my AD laughed.
