Hi,

I have been offered an allocation for a 750s LM.

They are limited to 50 units worldwide, however I'm still trying to gauge how 'special' the 750s LM is?

I've never bought a McLaren from new, as I was always quite cautious with how quickly some of the models depreciate. Is this car 'special' enough to hold it's value or is it just a 'marketing car', that will ultimately just depreciate like a standard 750s?

Thank you in advance for your help.

not sure, they look fantastic but ideally you want to to be equally unique as the 688hs which still trades for a premium

They did the 720S too which was 50 units and the difference between the two is negligible, bit of a gimmick, but for the wheels alone I think they look superb.

You’re one of only three people in the UK to have been offered a slot, which is pretty special. I’m actually quite surprised you’ve been given one without ever having bought a new car from the factory. But since 750S LM allocations are handled by the dealer, you clearly have a very strong relationship with them.

The MSO HDK, designed specifically for this model, is genuinely unique. The last time the factory did something like this was for the SLR, if I remember correctly. If I had to guess, I’d say the car should hold its value well. 720S LM did not have the MSO HDK hence just a marketing car.

The key question is whether you really want a 788HS. The 788HS is almost certain to trade at a premium, and those allocations are completely controlled by the factory and dealers have no say. Turning down a special car like the 750S LM would definitely hurt your chances of being offered a 788HS later.

If I were in your position, and assuming money isn’t the issue, I’d take the 750S LM and spec one or two MSO options (don't go crazy but just get to talk to MSO directly) to get the factory’s attention. That should significantly improve your chances of being allocated a 788HS.

I don't have an opinion on value, but it does look rather nice

It’s the rumoured ultimate sign off version of the 7xx series McLaren.

Like how the 688hs was to the 675LT / 650s.
