Check those connectors
Discussion
A few months ago I had a magnetic charger connector fitted under the front number plate holder. It works fine, though you have to be careful not to dislodge it if you put a car cover on.
Anyway, I went out to the car last night to make sure it was still in place - it was, but to my surprise it felt warm. I looked in the garage where the charger is, and it was on 'happy' so there can't have been an appreciable current flowing. This morning I had the idea to wipe the bearing surface with a tissue and to my surprise it came up black. Then I realised that whilst driving, it's subject to all the road crud and I hadn't thought to clean that part.
So for all you with magnetic connectors, make sure they're clean! They should really have a cap on them but I suppose then it would dangle and look odd.

I have a magnetic connector on my V8V added by Aston Installations and, because of the position in the rear number-plate recess, it's relatively protected.
I was contemplating adding one to my wife's C30, and the front below the numberplate was a logical place, but I decided against that for the very reason of contamination by the dirt and wet thrown up by any vehicles she's following.

I had the same fitted by the guys at AI. I think mine came with a rubber cap to keep things clean when not in use. The Vantage I have now has it fitted from factory in the same place AI fit them to the VH cars and so far so good, no issues or complaints. However, I do make sure that it gets a rudimentary wipe before I connect the charger.I was contemplating adding one to my wife's C30, and the front below the numberplate was a logical place, but I decided against that for the very reason of contamination by the dirt and wet thrown up by any vehicles she's following.
