I have a set of 4 Halogen low-voltage downlights, that I'd like to change to the 240v direct mains LED (all built in unit) ones. My crude diagram shows how it is currently all connected. I have changed these a few times in the past in other rooms and just removed the transformers and plugged directly in,but want to check the same is true for this setup.

Can the daisy-chain setup still work, if I merely remove the transformers and wire directly?

Thanks

I did but ran a wire from each lamp back to the junction box.

Then did some in the kitchen where the lamps had a loop in, loop out connector with different colour and brightness switches fitted.

Yes you can leave the daisy chain. These are brilliant devices:

I recently swapped out some of these and some off the plastics were crumbling in my fingers like pastry, from the heat cycling. I think these things get up to 250 degrees C. Properly installed too it seems. I'm amazed they're ever legal really.
