David Walliams dropped by publisher over behaviour to women
Discussion
He's one of those people who's always had "something of the night" about him in my view as someone once said about someone else.

I don t like being the person that says things like this but I m going to say it there s always been something somewhat sinister about him. Just not a good vibe
I always put him in the same box as Noel Fielding and Graham Norton, a person of campness who was just a bit of an odd duck that the BBC liked. Yes they come across a bit strange, but then thats TV people in general and the BBC likes to employ that demographic.Vsix and Vtec said:

I automatically assume that anyone in the spotlight is a paedophile, rapist, cannibal and nazi and it's on them to prove to me otherwise. bloomen said:

For a gay man he certainly has had a succession of very attractive former girlfriends. And of course a (model) wife.
An alumni of Reigate Grammar (as was Kier Starmer, fwiw). Raised in Banstead. Attended Bristol. It’s like I’ve been unknowingly following him around.
I imagine many will only know of him as a kind of modern day Kenneth Williams, unaware of the breadth of his work in children’s literature and films/tv.
Obviously he has, or had, a bit of a reputation. Who knows what’s behind this latest furore. I imagine the press have a free pass now.

He doesn't regard himself as gay evidently; more sort of bisexual. He's made a mint from his book sales and that's something that adds to his attraction to many. I don't find him particularly funny. An alumni of Reigate Grammar (as was Kier Starmer, fwiw). Raised in Banstead. Attended Bristol. It s like I ve been unknowingly following him around.

It would appear - admitted by Murdoch's Harper Collins according to reports - he was not informed of the investigation into his behaviour, nor given the opportunity to reply. From my understanding, that gives him leverage in accessing compensation. I would assume he'll sue, or threaten to, and there could well be a massive payout. He's was a nice earner for Murdoch, and Walliams might well feel he has money coming in if due process hasn't been followed. There can be demands against him by those who feel they have been improperly dealt with.
I always thought he was playing up to being creepy. It appears I may have been wrong.

It's reported that during the year long investigation, at least one employee left Harper Collins with a five figure settlement, and all other female staff were told when in his presence, ensure they are in pairs. It would appear - admitted by Murdoch's Harper Collins according to reports - he was not informed of the investigation into his behaviour, nor given the opportunity to reply. He made them a serious ton of cash, so to cut ties with him after an investigation is seriously detrimental to their earnings, so not a descion taken lightly; that speaks volumes.
