It's not cold enough to fire up the stove but a couple of lights in the alcove might add a bit of interest in the meantime.

I think normal stick-on LED lights would melt or fail when the stove is used, so I was looking for magnetic plates so they were removeable. However all the 'magnetic plates' I can find aren't magnetic, they're just for (already magnetic) mobile phone holders.

Does anyone know of small heat-proof lights or true magnetic plates I could use?

The problem is that they have stick-on pads, so you could only use them once.

We have a red vase and put fairy lights into it when it’s too warm to light the stove itself.

Gives the impression of a lit fire but just via LED’s.

Only takes moments to put them in / take them out so maybe you could do same with the alcove lighting?
