I wanted to remove the inner doorpanel of my Vixen today, but couldn't remove the chrome window winder arm. Who can tell me how to remove it?

When I removed mine, I found that there was a pin behind the arm where it enters the door. This was pushed out and the handle removes. Mine looked like a bent split-pin so I'm unsure whether this is "standard" but thats where you need to look.

Apparently some may have a screw securing them instead... www.tvrna.com/tech-v02.html

The window winder handle is a 5 part assembly 1. the handle (with a square female hole with an 1/8 drilling through) 2. a 1/8 pin with a taper end, then the escutheon (which has 3 an inner 4 outer that has four spikes that bed into the vynil trim and then a 5 spring that holds these two together.....to remove the handle you need to compress the 3 and 4, which will then reveal the drilling and pin which until then is hidden beyond them, then with a small screw driver push the pin out, the handle then comes away from the winder mech drive.
Always work out the parked position of the winder handle with the window closed before you remove the handle (normally 7 o'clock or 5 if on passenger door) so it is fitted back correctly.

Just out of interest.

The winder handles are originally from a Standard 10.

replica ones can be had from that place who's name escapes me that sell all of the bright work mail order for Cobra replcas.

Neil.

Europa's do a winder arm that is similar to one of the handles in my car, but I'm unsure if this is the original style?

www.europaspares.com

Cannot get the link to the precise page to work but is pictured the brightwork section.

I have got this type of winder arm.
I think it is original for a Vixen S3
