A4/S4 Avant Tailgate Reg Plate Mountings

Does anyone know if the two sockets where you can attach the registration plate screws on the tailgate of a B9 A4/S4 can be replaced? One of the existing screws was corroded and snapped when Intried to remove it but the official parts diagram appears to indicate that the circular mounts that the screws go into could be removable. On my car they are painted in the same colour as the body though which makes me think they may be fixed to the tailgate? Looks like it might be part number 24 on the diagram below but not sure..
