Cambelt history looks dodgy, is it not chain on this?

It is indeed, good spot, thanks. The service history records a 'toothed belt' change - we've amended the listing to reflect this

Like others, I question the toothed belt changes. This engine definitely has a chain. Other than that, it would be the ‘non-toothed’ belt that drives the engine ancillaries, even then that’s a lot of belt changes. Any chance you could ask the servicing agent for clarification on this?

Most modern timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. In many cases, they can go over 150,000 to 200,000 miles without issue, especially if the engine has been properly maintained

Car looks great, the belt changes look wrong is it a case of tick tick without checking what they actually needed to do?

Hi, if you scroll to the right on the add you will find the documents and copies of the service books. Under the toothbelt you will find a tick in the box for NO as the car has a chain.

Car looks great, few questions for you:

1. Has there been any recent intake valve carbon cleaning? Has the intake manifold assembly ever been replaced?
2. Has the transmission fluid been changed in the last 60,000 miles?
3. Have you done any work on the air suspension?
4. Have the upper control arm bushings been replaced recently?
5. Are there any known coolant or oil leaks?
6. Are there any other mechanical issues to be aware of?

Hi

"Haldex and S-tronic fluids refreshed at recorded intervals"

I can't see the Haldex being done after 18K at Audi, can you confirm the subsequent intervals please? Also is there invoices in the history file for all the services carried out in your ownership?

Can I also ask why you used a non specialist garage for the servicing? Is it due to them being local or do they have knowledge of these cars/engines?

Also has anyone investigated what is wrong with the rear blind?

Thanks

Hi

All the services done. I have used a specialist garage in Biggleswade ASG. They are very good.
I haven't saved the service invoices.
The left back door blind doesn't want to stay down. Most likely something got stuck or the encoder needs resetting.
I haven't investigated it.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Are you able to get a copy of the invoices please?

Audi usually provide the owner with a copy if requested. Local garage would hopefully also do the same for you but not myself if I won the auction.

Also can you confirm optional extras please? If easier do you have a build sheet you can send to me please?

Thanks

I haven't saved the service invoices.
The S8 is the top of the range and comes with most optional extras. Sun roof.
I have roof rack from my previous S8 and ski fixings in the boot.

Thanks.

I understand you don't have the invoices saved but you request a copy please? I appreciate you have owned the car for a long time and no doubt lavished money on its upkeep but if I win the auction and try selling the car a few years down the line I will struggle to prove to any prospective buyer that the service stamps are genuine. Also service stamps wouldn't account for any non routine maintenance work etc.

I am a genuine bidder which PH can verify having purchased a car on here previously.

Thanks

The service is done by a reputable garage here in Biggleswade ASG. I know the owner personally. They deal with a lot of super cars. The stamps are genuine. I do look after my cars.

I wasn't implying you don't look after your cars, I am more concerned when I come to sell the car the lack of invoices will hamper the sale value.

Would you be able to request the invoices from both Audi and ASG please?
