Perspex headlamp covers

Are these tinted?

I assumed they were clear, but having bought a secondhand cover I've discovered it's got a slight dark tint to it. It's barely noticeable mounted on the pod (which it came with), but held up against a white surface it's definitely tinted. My car's black so I can't tell if the ones on the car are the same!

Anybody taken theirs out and know for sure?
Anybody got a white car, and can tell?!

I think some are and some aren't. I've seen at least one griff with non-matching headlamp perspex. If you're replacing one I'd double check before sealing it, lest you have a winking Griff

Hi Ben , I have a white 1992 griff and looking at my perspex headlight covers I thinks they are definately not tinted .IMHO

I bought a pair recently and they asked if I wanted tinted or not so I guess both are used, cheers, John

I made an enqiry on Friday, clear are £38 each plus vat and tinted £53 plus vat, both are available.

Unless you have the brighter lights kit or an upgrade I would go for the untinted ones as they are tim nice but dim enough allready.

Got a yellow (well that's the official colour) Griff that looks white (ish) and the pods are tinted.
Personally, the tint isn't strong so I wouldn't worry about tints if your car is dark as you won't really be able to tell.

Early Griffs were clear, later ones were tinted. Same goes for the rear (Cavalier) covers.

You're right. I've opted for tinted as driver's clear are unavailable at the moment. I'll have a pair of clear for sale soon - mail me if interested.
