Young Sherlock from Guy Ritchie
Discussion
I'm finding the characters ability to be somewhere 'new' in moments, coupled with their perfectly tailored (and suitable) wardrobe, a little grating.
Some flaws in how immaculate folk all look, having to do 'ordinary' things (go to the bank to get local money or an advance on funds, you know, the stuff that helps tell a real story (for which I'm thankful to one particular English teacher, who pointed out [whilst we at first laughed] that in "The Old Man and the Sea", the fisherman did actually, at one stage, have to have a piss).
All this is missing and it's a little (dare I say) too slick.
Mycroft as a character, is nowhere near the equivalent of Sherlock mentally, which is not the impression I got from the original stories. However, the portrayal of James Moriarty is brilliantly done - so far, at least.

Completely agree. IIRC Mycroft was supposed to be cleverer than Holmes but let down by the fact that he was a bit of a lazyarseMoriarty seems to be a far more interesting character than Sherlock

and may the good Lord forgive me for having insalubrious thoughts about Mrs Holmes
