Whilst walking to the bar in Bulgaria today to meet my son for a drink, I noticed this G60 540d. I didn’t realise such a model existed as they are not available in the UK.

Since my first diesel BMW in 2007, I’ve loved their relaxed nature performance (of the 3 litres), tremendous economy and their ability to cross continents without fuss.

Like many I am very disappointed, that big engined ICE BMW 5 series are not available in Britain and for me a 520i after a 3 litre diesel BMW doesn’t really cut it.

I wonder if BMW UK will reverse their decision and bring in big engined diesel 5 series.

Have you tried dropping BMW UK a note to see what they say. I suspect it is incredibly unlikely that they’ll go backwards given the focus they’ve put on developing the Neue Klasse EV pipeline and the UK’s ZEV Mandate along with horrendous tax implications for company car / SS use, but you could ask them for their take on things.

With things like this is it possible to order it in RHD from a dealership over there?

Know that's how we used to get a lot of Volvos etc (from NL dealers IIRC) back in the day.
