2013 - Fiat 500, Radio Removal
Discussion
My daughter got an aftermarket Car Play unit for her Fiat 500, which I "quickly" tried to install over the xmas period. Step 1: remove old radio. The kit came with the required "pins" and I have watched about 300 videos which talk you through the process:
- Remove the 4 plastic covers
- Insert 2 u-shape pins
- Pull out radio
I've tried everthing and I can not get the old radio out either gentle or by force. The old radio now looks a mess (the dash is fine) and I'm at a loss on how to proceed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is a bit of dismantling, but very easy.
The panel round the heater controls has to come off. That exposes two screws holding the dash trim panel on, but caution there is a third screw on the far left in the glove box lid. The full panel should then gently unclip, revealing the screws holding the head unit in place. There are various YouTube videos for it (and I have just done it, albeit on a post facelift car.)
