Fitting reversing camere to Skoda Fabia
Discussion
My grandaughter has just got a 2013 Fabia and would like a reversing camera
I have seen loads on Amazon where the camera replaces one of the number plate lights, have to feed a wire around inside of tailgate so that could be interesting. I need to take the power from the reversing light bulb feed, as the car presumably has Cambus is that easy to do?
I've done loads of wiring on cars in the past but never one with Cambus.
I understand that we could get a camera that sends signal to the display using Bluetooth?
As this is a 13 year old car don't want to spend lots, this will have to have a display screen fixed somehow to the dashboard, also having a plug and cable running from the fag lighter socket is unsightly and in the way, where can I best pick up a 12v supply for it?

I appreciate you mentioned budget but on someone else’s car, albeit family, I’d still stump up to get a professional to fit it.
There are loads of companies who specialise in retrofit backup cameras. Get a quote and see before buying the kit as people aren’t at all keen to fit other people’s hardware.

Not bought one yet. Apparently there are ones with dashcams built in as well. Just trying to get my head aroud it all.
If she was rich enough to have bought a Mercedes it would have reversing camera as standard but at 18 that's a bit optimistic!
Logic is a bit off there. Nearly every Mercedes has the camera as an optional extra, so she’d have to be extra rich. If she was rich enough to have bought a Mercedes it would have reversing camera as standard but at 18 that's a bit optimistic!
That era of Fabia is quite easy to retrofit and the official kit isn’t that expensive, I believe it taps into the fuse box in the boot.
For an even easier (and cheaper) one, you can use the camera’s that have replace the rear view mirror, they’re quite good tbh and you just run the cable through the roof lining.
