£17k first EV Choice
Discussion
This is going to be my first step into the EV world, but fancy taking advantage of the superb value of used EV's. Already have home solar and will be getting a home charger. All my journeys are short, sub 30 mile round trips at most, but need space for my 2 dogs so no 4dr options.
Current shortlist is;
- Polestar 2
- Ford Mustang Mach-E
- Hyundai Ioniq 5
- Skoda Enyaq
- Tesla Model S
Anything else I should consider that will be a fairly reliable choice?
Anyone give some real world reviews of the above?
Im currently dallying my Nissan Elgrand 3.5, so the next car will be a world away from what I'm in now!

If all your journeys will be short, you would be OK with just a dedicated outside 3 pin socket. It'd take a very long time to recover the cost of a home charger since you can get a cheap overnight rate on an EV tariff, albeit you'd charge faster. Unless you get one thrown in for free of course.

A home battery is more important than solar as you can use Octopus IOG to charge at night and use during the day. In winter, I am barely getting anything from the sun sadly. So a worthy investment if you can! If you have 2 dogs, worth considering a 5-seater van with a big boot (Townstar, Berlingo)?Current shortlist is;
