Pirelli PZero Corsa

I have the above tyres fitted as OEM on my mk4.5 Focus ST, these are part of the 'track pack' which also included flow formed alloys, Brembo brakes and KW coilovers.
I have been really impressed with how these tyres have performed on my car. Now they are coming to the end of their life I am looking to replace them. I am happy to replace like for like but this comes at a price, i have been recommended Michelin PS4S, but I worry that the car won't perform as it did and I will be dissapointed. I don't want to get them to bin them off. The only issue I have had with the Corsas was a bit of aquaplaning on the M25 during some biblical rain a few weeks ago.
This car is my daily driver and although I enjoy driving fast I don't take every roundabout and corner as if i was on a track
Also, although it has the 'track pack', it's highly unlikely it will ever see a track.

if rain is a concern, the regular PS4 would be a better option that the slightly more sporty/track focused PS4S.

Or the latest Continental 7's, Goodyear Assy 6 etc etc

I'd be surprised you'd ever get the heat you'd need into the Corsa's for them to give their best grip (and you'd need a smooth track to maintain the higher g-forces to feel any real benefit), so you've probably never had the best performance our of them in their lifespan.

The PS4S is a fine tyre, and much better in damp/wet conditions than any trackday tyre. It will last longer due to being a harder compound and having deeper tread to start with.

If you're happy with a high/max/ultra performance road tyre then any of these would be perfect:

• Michelin PS4S
• Continental SportContact 7
• Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport
• Pirelli P-Zero PZ5
• Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6

If you really want a track day type tyre then these would be the next step up (realising the dry grip is at the expense of wet/cold grip & treadwear):

Of course, your choice will be limited by what sizes you need and what's available in that size.

Thanks for the replies. I'm guessing from the mention of getting heat into the Corsas that they really are overkill for my type of driving.
I'm not worried about rain, if i am driving in poor conditions i drive accordingly. My mention of aquaplaning was simply to highlight that in over 10,000 miles on these tyres that is the only occasion I have felt unease. I also put that down to the fact they are down to about 3mm.
Looking at some of the reviews and comments from other ST owners i will be choosing between PZ5 or PS4S as my next tyres.
