What, if anything, are you doing for NYE this evening?

I'm aware that there are many people who aren't into the celebrations, it's considered forced joviality etc. That's fine.

Tonight, I have a planned get together with some friends and vague associates. It'll be outside, seems like it won't be especially fun, and it's going to be 0 /-1 degrees C. I'm thinking of staying in and not doing anything. I do have plans for NYD, though.

I was quite keen to find a decent nightclub in London, playing some good house music/house classics, but the average entry price is about £50. I can afford it, but I don't think it's value for money, for what will likely be an average night. I won't entertain that idea further.

I expect I'll be snoring and dribbling from 21:30hrs, as I did an airport run for my parents at 04:30 this morning.

I'll probably be in Bed.

There is a house further down our hill that always sets off massive fireworks though so I suspect I'll be woken by that at midnight.

Local pub have a turn, so I'll do that. I hate NYE logistics so if it ain't walkable then I'm not going.

At work until 8pm, i'll probably be in bed and asleep by 10:30 and then up early morning for a run before coming back to work in the morning. pretty much business as usual for me.

Going bowling with the Daughter, S-i-L & grandkids @ 5pm, then huge Chinese feast with optional beer and wine.

Someone will wake me up for the midnight countdown (probably).

Yep I'm not playing that game anymore, so my excessive drinking & dancing will have to wait until our boys ski trip in a few weeks time instead!!!

Watching Youtube stuff on the telly, putting food out for the foxes, drinking wine.

The same as most other evenings, apart from preparing myself for the insane barrage of fireworks at Midnight.

I shall be up until at least 1am, probably closer to 2, trying to comfort a terrified dog.

Watching Stranger Things with a wee dram, bed about 11pm, wake up tomorrow fresh as a daisy, can't stand NYE, but hope everyone has a nice night.

Nothing. Not been out on a NYE since 2012 as I refuse to pay to get into average pubs. Will be spent at home and I'll be in bed by 10 as I'm working NYD which is good as it's a holiday wasted otherwise.

As I live in Edinburgh.
Im embracing it and going into the centre. Dinner booked for 8pm.
Have a few more drinks until the bells.
Watch the fireworks.
A few more drinks and then get a Nightbus home.

I wont be paying to go into the Street party in Princes Street but there are so many spots to watch the fireworks from for free anyway its fine. The fireworks are set off from the castle which is the highest point around.

Six friends arriving at 4pm. Four course dinner with each couple doing a course. Games, beer, wine, cocktails until midnight. Champagne and cheese at midnight. Bed probably 2am.

Tomorrow light breakfast, then 3 hour walk to the pub for a 2pm lunch. Taxi back then repeat previous evening of booze and games.

Friday huge breakfast, lazy morning then taxi to Winchester for scavenger hunt murder mystery. Cocktails at Incognito at 5:30 then dinner at a Teppanyaki restaurant. Taxi home.

Saturday huge breakfast and wave everyone off. Lazy weekend and back to work on Monday.

We do this sort of thing every year and have done for the last 20, all with the same wonderful people. To be honest, I prefer it to Christmas!

Got very good friends coming round for decent food and drink. Game of darts and party games.

Quick couple of pints down a local first.

An 'absent family and friends' toast will feature sometime this evening; sadly the total has increased by two this year.

Other than that probably an early night.
