Fireworks already!!

What is it with some people, we expect fireworks at midnight for maybe half an hour. So we plan to make sure our pets are outside for their final toilet duties at least an hour before, so why are there fireworks going off now !!!

Just been out with our dog and could hear fireworks too.
We are very fortunate, 6 year old spaniel, scared of a door closing loudly but not of fireworks.

Two working cockers in here not bothered at all, but still- feel sorry for any pets that suffer.
Wouldn’t cross my mind to set them off. Total waste of money and distresses a lot of folks pets.

We've a sprocker. He's not overly scared by fireworks, more angry at them barking at him. Had them most nights this week.

Our two standard poodles have been shaking since around 18:00 tonight, they are petrified.

I hate fireworks, you can always guarantee the nearest sink estate has the most going off, literally benefits going up in smoke.

We used to have a rabbit that sat in the middle of the lawn watching the fireworks, I choked on my cuppa many times as she watched them fly over her head and fall on her back trying to look over her shoulder.

Mine didn't bat an eyelid but then she's a trained gun dog, it is possible to train them not to piss themselves when they hear a bang.

Or we could just try to stop people having fun instead.

Gah!!!!! Fireworks from 9pm this evening. WTF?
Just when I was trying to get th kids to bed. They enjoyed them for a bit but even my son said he wouldn’t be able to get to sleep.

This was the fireworks near us at 9:30 - 9:40 this evening.
At what point did fireworks become less about the oohs and aahs and all about the loudest explosions imaginable?

Dunno, I remember buying airbomb repeaters and bangers a long time ago? I think you can just buy bigger aerial shells these days.

Cricket club had a family event at 18:00, but obviously that’s away out in the sticks (and surrounded by the fields).

Locals didn’t start firing until 23:00, more or less. That went well into 01:00. Suppose depends how old they are?

My mum's old Shih Tzu was a funny mix of those. He would go demented at the sound of fireworks, scrabbling at the back door. Not because he was scared but because he was desperate to get out and watch them! He'd jump up on the patio table for the best view and just be entranced by them. Yes, he fell off multiple times but it never deterred him. Happened regularly thanks to a few wedding venues in the valley.
