Broadband Tech Question no 1
Discussion
Finally i have told Sky where to stick it and as from next month will be richer by 133.pm* see later comment
OK i am just on Freesat but as i said to the woman I would rather eat and keep warm than freeze and starve
My broadband and phone was an additl £47 on top and i told her that once i had done a bit of chcking ,that would be getting thev old Heave ho as well
Found Vodaphone and they offer 910mbs and unlimited phone calls fo £37 pm.
Now the tech bit. When sky put the broadband on the fitter put an 'extender'? FOC, so i could get my two bird box cams on the system. Would this still work with the Vodaphone router when it is changed over, or would i neeed to get some NetGear boosters to get a good signal from the birdbox cams?

Hold on, that's £47 for broadband on top of £133 for sky...
Thought that was a lot myself, as I'm paying £99/m with VM for EVERYTHING (1g broadband, full TV package including UHD sports, landline).
But my uncle is on a very similar package as me, and just because he refuses to call up and negotiate, he's paying £160 (he also pays for the international call plan which he doesn't use, but hasn't removed yet).

If they're just simple wifi repeaters/extenders, then in theory they should work with any router...unless Sky have locked them down and/or want them back when you switch supplier. You could probably also source some Vodafone ones (might call them boosters or extenders) as part of your package (£7/month extra IIRC).
Also, as a new customer, ensure you're getting the latest & greatest router (e.g. wifi7), but it looks like their Ultra Hub 7 router costs another £3 more (although it does include the booster and 4g backup service).
If you do go ahead with it, see if there are any cashback offers via TopCashBack or Quidco...

£75pm for us. No UHD but multi room and landlineBut my uncle is on a very similar package as me, and just because he refuses to call up and negotiate, he's paying £160 (he also pays for the international call plan which he doesn't use, but hasn't removed yet).

Apart from answering my question before i posted it..can you give me the Euromillions numbers for tomorrow?
What would you suggest i drop down to once the 24month contract is up? 300mbs?? My Grandkids are permanently on Games when they visit, hence the reason i went got the 500mbs with free boost to 910mbs
Plus Sky tried to sweeten me to stay with an improved offer of 150mbsplus anytime calls ( at presnt 47.oo pm and offered the same at 55.00pm.. Ok i may go cold turkey on sport oy going on freesat but the saving is too good to say no to From 180 to 37.00
Oh and it appears i am not paying for the addtl booster.. so it could e a win win .but i still have the old netgear oness..just in case
Thanks to all for the advice and observations and a Happy New Year to everyone
