western union wire transfer

Hi

Ive been told by people not to send money bills by western union. Is western union wire transfer any better. Please can you give any info on this, have you brought anything using western union wire transfer.

Have never bought or sold anything via western union as the general feeling and advise i have been given is avoid, it tends to be used by all the big scamers in the world.

Yes, don't send money by WU because if it's a scam they just collect the cash at their end and disappear.

However it's fine to receive money by WU - I did this once for an eBay item I was selling and just collected the cash from a travel agent.

Note: I got fooled once by a WU *cheque* - the buyer posted it to me in good faith but it was in dollars and travel agents couldn't cash it. Luckily the buyer was honest and eventually used PayPal.
