The £1000 204 AMG Sport Estate!
Discussion
Morning chaps,
I'm usually on the Mini forums here as that's my toy, but an opportunity came that I couldn't pass up.
I bought this C250 CGi AMG Sport from a customer that did not want to spend out on any further diagnosis or have the money to carry out the repair. It had low compression on cylinder 4, which turned out to be a burnt out exhaust valve.
He had spent out a fair bit on it during the year so far, had a headlamp replaced, a minor knock on the front wing sorted, and had all the wheels refurbished, and had just fallen out of love with it. After deciding he could get away with just one car in the household, he was going to take it to We Buy Any Car, who had offered him just over a grand as a non runner, I offered him a £1000 which he accepted.
I have replaced the valves, done a timing chain & guides, a set of coil packs due to odd random misfires across all cylinders, and all is good. The car has full MB history, serviced every 5000 miles - the cam pulleys have zero wear unlike 271 evo engines that stick to the ridiculous service schedules, it has 70k on it and apart from the odd stone chip and a scuff on the drivers side skirt, is pretty mint. It also had a service & MoT left on the service plan.
Also got hold of a set of genuine C63 19"s which came from another customer that no longer had the car.
I daily a Pug 3008 so the Merc will be a weekend car, until I decide whether to move it on.
