Sorry, but I can't wait until the 14 days are up as the summons was delayed in Christmas post and I need to reply to it asap.

20mph in London is a nightmare, and I've now got another ticket on top of existing 9 points. Even though 3 have now dropped off, I understand the ban in likely (by totting up rule to 12), so I need to get some fairly prompt legal advice. Anyone know of a good motoring lawyer? Plenty of options with a google search, but hoping to get a personal recommendation.

AGTLaw posts frequently on here, but is a barrister and you'll need a solicitor to start...

He may be able to recommend one?

From the link above re direct access to try and help:

Anyone can instruct a barrister. I can assist with the preparation of a plea in mitigation, taking your case to trial or appeal. Direct Access is particularly appropriate for straightforward cases in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.

No, anyone can instruct a direct access barrister. Other barristers need to be instructed via a solicitor.

You can find details of direct access barristers on the Bar Council website. Link below,

Not sure I understand how many points you currently have. How many are less than 3 years old?

I'm one of them. Would thoroughly recommend. On top of the excellent legal advice and representation, he is also great at laying things out, calming the situation and panic you're likely going through, and walking you through it all so you understand it.

Another vote for AGT here…

He has helped me out of a very tight squeeze and also came to the aid of a very good friend of mine - we both got better than expected outcomes from the court.

I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has all the skills, expertise and deportment you need.

AGT

/end thread

It might be time barred depending on when the police posted it, but you need the expert, not me.

1. How do you get to 12 with 3 points if you are currently on 6?

2. You say you have another ticket, yet you also say a summons is in the post. What exactly do you mean is it an NIP, is it a FPN, is it a letter asking you who was driving?

3. What speed are we talking about?

4. Maybe time to start paying attention/setting cruise control/etc.
