C220 (21 Plate) Cabriolet Front Coil Spring
Discussion
My sons’s 2021 Mercedes C220 Cabriolet has just failed its MOT due to a broken front coil spring.
The car has done 33k and the specialists are recommending that both the front springs are replaced. I’m assuming this is due to having mismatched springs affecting the ride height and control under heavy breaking.
Due to cost considerations, he’s not keen on replacing both springs. Any constructive advice would be greatly received as to whether he really should replace both Springs.

Since you alredy know the answer, it's down to cost and potentially living with something that feels 'off' under braking.
I replaced mine in the last year. about £120 a spring from memory. CLS 2013. I took them apart myself as tht's not hard and then paid for the springs to be swapped over. Conventional DIY compressors are no good, you need a proper machine. Say that part is £50, you are saving just over £100. Hardly seems worth it.
