One of the TPMS sensors on my 2016 BMW went out. A local shop replaced all four with Autel sensors but couldn’t program them, so the system never synced. Now the TPMS light blinks rapidly and won’t stay solid.

Tire shops also couldn’t fix it. Other than going to a dealer or covering the light, is there any way to fix this? Would getting an Autel MK900-TS and doing it myself work?

You should be able to reset as follows:

Press Start: Start the car (or press the Start button without foot on brake to activate electronics).

Navigate: Go to "My Vehicle" / "Vehicle Info" > "Vehicle Status" > "Tyre Pressure Monitor".

Select Reset: Choose the "Perform Reset" or "Reset TPMS" option and confirm.

Drive: Drive for 10-15 minutes at over 20 mph for recalibration.

Useful to know. This is why I like this place.

Not sure that will work through if the sensors haven't been coded as it won't locate them.

The above procedure is following a puncture or change in pressures.

I'm assuming 2016 TPMS sensors are similar to 2018 TPMS sensors, but I got brand new sensors for a set of winter wheels and didn't need to code them to the car. It just needed the calibration process mentioned above.

I suspect it's more likely the Autel sensors are not compatible with the BMW system.

New BMW sensors don't need to be coded. The system will pick them up

Some aftermarket ones are the same, others need to be coded

They're the correct sensors for the Fx range and genuine BMW too, at a sensible price. They work perfectly
