I'm trying to get as big of a tyre I can and have 35mm between rim and what is essentially the bottom of the steerer tube.

I've been to a couple of shops to try measure but they didn't have anything close so I'm turning to here.

I'm after a tyre between 32-45c and need to know what the the actual height of the tyre is above the rim to the top of the tread so if you could be so kind to measure your side that would be much appreciated. TIA smile

Side note: I do understand internal rim width is a factor here but measurement depending I may buy a wheelset to accommodate but would rather not so seeing what I can run.

Have you tried googling to see what other tyres have fitted to your bike already, that helped me when trying to establish max tyre size for potential gravel bike purchases.

Officially the maximum recommended is 28c and can't find anyone anywhere speaking about putting anything else on but I have a bike with 28c tyres and I think anything bigger would catch the fork height wise but that fork doesn't have the generous clearance the one in question does.

some brands of tyres have more volume than others. It really depends on the brand. The more road/slick tread the tyre is, might allow for a lower volume tyre but not always. Trial and error might be your only way of finding the widest tyre possible for that space. Also, rim width is a factor too. Narrower rims with wider tyres create a mushroom effect.
