I have owned 2 Tuscan Convertibles in my TVR Ownership but have I missed something?
Its been a few years since having one and thought it might be time to get another for the summer but:-

How have they become over £50K?
Do they actually sell for this? I could possibly understand if it was an S in Reflex paint (Charcoal) with very low miles and owners but for a non s in a bland colour !? If thats the case as in Dragons Den "I'm Out"

I was expecting £45K max. :-) Guess I have been away too long.

Market seems quite slow for any TVR over 40k. I think the last convertible that sold from a dealer was the chameleon green one at Str8six and I think that was priced at 50k. Spring is around the corner so things might look up a bit.

It;s about time Convertible prices aligned nearer to Sag prices smile .... Afte all new a fully spec'ed S was the same price as a Sag in 2006 , and there were less than 1/3 the number of Verts compared to Sags , and 1/6 th the number of 'S's .
I'm totally biased and I have my mint bespoke 4.5 Super Sport updated MBE ECU with Anti knock Vert insured for £65k

Both Vert and Sag prices dropped to £25k-£35k between 2007-2010 when TVR had failed and concerns about support , but prices have bounced back but Verts not as much as Sags ... I sold my Sag for £80k 7 years ago but kept hold of mu Convertible smile .

Inflation adjust the cash you sold your last one for and it may not seem so bad!

This raises the question of whether the convertibles have become more expensive or whether all the others have become cheaper. Prices for the T350, for example, have fallen significantly again recently from 40ish to 30-35ish. And that's despite low supply of them.

It seems to me that I think a year, maybe 18 months ago a guy posted a black mk3/wavy dash Tuscan on Autotrader for £50k and that drove up prices. Unsurprisingly it’s still there.

I also have owned two , of four TVR's total.
I admit I have got out of touch with the prices , however I was looking again last spring and the advertised prices were almost irrelevant to the final selling prices.
As an owner I can say for a kit car with old tech and limited safety features, they are a crazy overpriced dinosaur.

There was a black mk2 Tuscan s on there for a long time at £49995. Not a full convertible and not a wavey dash. Viewed it before Xmas. It’s now been sold. Can’t remember anything else being on Autotrader that meets your description

I think you will find that there are more tatty, higher mileage T350s from the earlier pre Smolenski era ,which understandably have a significantly lower value than the much rarer late models. The 2005/6 T350T production was probably around 10 cars in total.
You get other rare late model cars like the " MK3", convertible.
Often these late model variants ( which everyone accepts were better made) have never fallen into the cheaper end of the second hand car market and have not been used and a abused like the earlier cars. This is because, they were often still with the original owner ,when the factory closed.Making them instant irreplaceable classics.

I think that really values can only be gauged by actual sold prices and not advertised prices. We all think our cars are worth a fortune but they are only worth what they can be sold for. Insurance values are meaningless too when it comes to sale values. I have a couple of old cars insured much higher than the market value because they are insured for rebuild cost, not sale cost. Dealer prices are always higher than private sales too of course and I suspect that gap is even greater with a car like a TVR where buying from a reputable dealer affords some peace of mind but buying privately may be seen as a huge risk by some, considering TVR's sometimes dubious reputation!!
