Watching F1 in the UK thats not sky?

Do we have any options? I am talking legit!

I just had a quick look at their website and I think I am looking at £35 a month? (Stream+F1)

The last couple of years I have just been watching the highlights on youtube after the race ends.

If you search you'll find plenty of people using F1TV with a vpn. Not really legit but the money's going to F1.
Or pay for Now TV, which is 100% legit (sky by another name).

F1TV making it possible to purchase a subscription in the UK simply by paying via google play or apple breaks their commitment to give Sky sole broadcast rights in the UK.

But I don't think it's 'not legit' for the end user. Obviously you have to have your VPN pointed at a country that F1TV provide the service to, but it's not illegal to use a VPN in that way at all. Once you do, the app offers you the pro subscription - Sky and F1TV must be well aware it's stupidly easy to do this, God knows why Sky put up with it. But there's nothing illegal being done by people legally using a VPN and clicking 'yes' when subsequently being offered the pro package which allows live viewing.

Thanks, I will have a look around I would pay maybe £10-15 a month but after that I will stick with the highlights.

You could maybe get NOW TV for most races for that sort of money if you look out for special offers and cancel the sub inbetween.

Although F1TV is superior and £60 a year.

You'll probably get hit and miss results with a free or cheap vpn. Most of us get on very well with Nord VPN.

You don t need to watch it live, it s just cars going around in circles and crofty et al trotting out the same rubbish they ve been doing for 20 years or so.

I follow it on YT premium - no ads and wherever I am, and only watch the re-runs if it s worth the hassle. Often it is not.

VPN and viaplay in the netherlands. Gives you access to f1tv and a few other bits and pieces. It's €16 a month and they don't care about taking payment from a UK card.

Yep, a decent VPN is well worth it in general, especially if you travel a lot - as do I for work.

I have got Surf Shark, and it worked fine all last year. F1 TV Pro is £60 a year and I think Surf Shark was £25 for two years, so works out to be £6 a month. Until someone, probably Labour, make VPN's illegal it is perfectly legit to me.

I strongly suspect F1 do not care, because they get the cash directly.

Tricky to make VPN use illegal, virtually all IT experts would recommend using one for security reasons and every single government agency uses VPN too. If the UK was to ban the use of them, the UK would become a hot target for cyber crime.

Using public wifi without a VPN (as millions do each day) make life particularly easy for data thieves.

Just out of interest what countries are people basing in for VPN use? I am another Surfshark user but I do struggle with buffering from time to time, only with f1tv though annoyingly!

VPN use is on the rise as F1TV works in other countries, so hop on VPN Airlines and view from your favourite European country, it's cheaper than sky to fly somewhere else to view!

You should always use a payment service like Amazon to pay for F1TV for protection, as they don't ask for your personal details this way...

F1TV here for £5.99. I’ve already got the VPN so that’s not an additional cost.

F1TV for me with Nord VPN app pointing to the US and running on an Apple TV puck with the F1TV app downloaded…. Payment setup from a laptop pointing to the US using Paypal and paying in £ sterling.

May have to re-asses this year as Apple take over F1TV in the US so maybe a new app to use????

Might well just work if you point VPN at another country other than US. I can switch between any F1TV supporting country with my sub, even though I registered as being in netherlands and paid in the UK via google play. You don't have to only watch via the country you signed up and paid 'in'.

YouTube has highlights, although I can't quite remember at what time they come out.
