Stumbled across an interesting article the other day. There's now a website called Want My MTV that plays non stop randomly selected music videos (about 36000 so far), interspersed with very occasional period correct adverts and MTV station ID clips.

Pick your decade, or MTV2, or TRL, or Unplugged...

I am really enjoying having this on in the background. The "get what you're given" aspect is weirdly liberating (although there is a "next" button for when Kid Rock crops up).

I noticed around New Year that all the MTV music channels seem to have been scrapped, just having an on-screen message "This channel is now closed".

Maybe they quit because of all the other channels doing the same thing, especially Now 70s etc.

I've not looked at MTV itself since the channel went all "dating, botox, naked, argument".
