Seat belt question
Discussion
Is it possible to re-tension a seat belt? Iv'e been told you can fit new belt material but it isn't possible to retention them, not sure how true that is. The belts in question are Mk3 Mitsubishi Shogun belt, I can't get new ones and have fitted ones from another Shogun which the belt material has been cleaned and de-greased but still don't recoil themselves properly. Can anyone help?

It's unlikely they are model specific are there any other vehicles that you could get them from? Might not be new but give a wider choice
I did get the part number and the superseded part number from Mitsubishi, I did a search but it only comes up with secondhand Shogun ones. 595Heaven said:
When I had my MX5 the belts were slow to retract. The advice I got was to pull them out fully and give them a really good vacuum to remove the dust. Once that is done, wipe them with a damp cloth and keep them pulled out until they dry.
I was sceptical, but it did work
I have cleaned the belt in hot soapy water it made them a bit better but not much .I was sceptical, but it did work

Spray them with silicone spray.
Do you mean the mechanism or the belt itself? Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
