Over the past week or ten days I've got found and despatched at least one house fly every day; all of them very sluggish. Seems odd to have any at this time of year, particularly given how cold it's been.

Anyone else? (Warwickshire, if it makes a difference)

Loads of house flies at the moment, but we have rodents of some kind as winter lodgers and poison has been put down so we just assumed Mickey had eaten something that disagreed and died.

Me too, and I wondered the same thing. I sent the dog out to check the rat holes by the barn and he came back disinterested, so I don't think anything's dead.

They sound like cluster flies.

A nuisance, but they are not disease carriers.

Drain flies perhaps? Have you taken a picture and tried a google image search?

I din't need to take a picture; I know what house flies look like.

They are not cluster flies, they are not drain flies, they are not dragonflies and they are not time flies.
