Starting to find my usual Ralph boxers clearly aren’t designed for running, starting to rub inside my leg, never stay put etc

I assume there are options out there designed for running that should stop these issues?

I bought a pair similar to those on the link below:

https://www.underarmour.co.uk/en-gb/p/underwear/ua...

However, tbh I never really got on with them, can't really say why. Now I just wear my normal trunk boxers.

My running shorts do have the inner lining part as well (not sure what it's called). Not sure if that makes a difference.

i run in those exact same UA underwear and find them outstanding for running. Have tried Runderwear and some others but those are the best. works best with liner free shorts.

Pair of Next trunks works well for shorter distances. 100% cotton so can get clammy for longer runs.

You want them to cup the balls and for the leg part to extend down and cling to your skin so they don t rise up. Shorts or jogging bottoms worn over them should glide against fabric rather than skin, to minimise friction and chafing, so you don’t want short legged or no legged underwear.

Those are more expensive? The UA was a 3 pack.

I thought most running shorts had liners, so no underwear was necessary. At least every pair I've bought over the years has had one.

Currently using Nike stride- have 3 pairs in rotation that have seen me through marathons with no chafing or discomfort at all.

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong, I don't really wear running shorts, just rather generic loose breathable shorts, thinking about it they probably look more appropriate for basketball laugh

Same here. I have one pair with the stretch inner shorts like the Ronhill's linked above but don't find them as comfortable. I also have a pair of cheap Karrimor ones and the liner in them is a bit tough and scratchy so I just use them as swimming shorts rather than running in them.

These are the ones I use. Easily covered over a thousand miles in my oldest pair and they're still like new. Lightweight, no chafing and they look good too.

The back pocket is handy for your phone. It's big enough to hold a standard size phone (not iphone max) but small enough so it doesn't jiggle around.

The only thing I would change is to remove the two front pockets as anything you put in them is unlikely to stay put on a run.

Those underarmour boxers or the nike equivalent. Absolutely brilliant.

I don't like running shorts with built in liner or the swimming short style mesh as always ends up chafing for me.
