Door switch delay

My 1999 Chimaera driver's door mirror switch is getting slower and slower - sometimes takes several attempts and has to be held for a minute or more to release the door. It is silent until the door pops, so I presume it is the switch? Do I need a new switch? How easy to fit? How expensive? Need to do something fast as it looks as though I'm trying to nick my own car and it does make you look a prat trying to get in to the drivers seat from the passenger side

It's worth checking inside the connector block inside the door. If you remove the speaker there's a white connector block with, errr, don't remember how many wires.

Seems that water was dripping down the wire and into the connector block corroding it. I'd gone through three door switches before finding that.

I am new and aint got one yet but have read it will probably be the connector in the door. They corrode and your better off cutting the wires and replacing the connector yourself to stop it happening again.
