Say you have a theoretical 100kwh battery car when it degrades to 80% range does it still charge to 100kwh or does it only charge to 80kwh?

No real important reason just curious on the science.

New battery:
0% to 100% = 100 kWh
Degraded to 80% health:
0% to 100% = 80 kWh

For completeness, you would also of course need less electricity to charge it. So it's not like it's losing 20% in efficiency whilst charging. It's just like you have a smaller battery over time.

This. I charge to 80% and it’s exactly this scenario
