2 Year old car problems
Discussion
Posting for a friend who has had continual problems with his 2023 Range Rover. Bought very lightly used.
Developed a fault 6 weeks back where the n/s rear light would stay on after it was locked, the retractable door handle on the passenger front door would stay out and not lock along with the mirror on the same door not auto folding. In addition the driver controls would not operate the passenger door systems. If you open the passenger door when the rest of the car is locked the alarm goes off but you cannot lock it, which poses a security risk on the UKs most stolen car. I called Lancaster Range Rover Reading who told me the earliest they could get a technician to look at it was in 5 weeks time, I pointed out that the car could not be locked and my insurance was invalid so they offered to store the car for 5 weeks but would not provide a loan car!
I took the car into the appointment yesterday, they fitted a new rear light bar assembly which has fixed the permanent rear light problem but have told me the part to fix the passenger door lock was on back order for an undetermined period which they estimate would be 2-3 month, I pointed out that the car could not be locked and asked if they could provide a loan car and they could not. I paid £160,000 for the car 2 years back and recently bought the Range Rover extended warranty for £1600 a few months back, what should I do?
