Do you have a reserve or ball park figure you're trying to achieve? I apologise if I'm the only one that doesn't under stand these so called 'auction' things, I cant get my head round that if you are the winning bidder you have to factor the buyers fee into account ? likely to be 5-10K, I thought sellers pay a percentage of the sale price to the auction house ?

I can't tell you the reserve set but can tell you I've been offered £85k by a dealer. As for buyers fees, I've not bought on here before so I'd give the auction operations team a bell for guidance.

Thank you for your interest and for your questions. As mentioned we do not reveal the reserve on auction listings, we ask merely that you bid to your maximum you are prepared to pay for the car.

If you have any specific questions around the auction process please do feel free to reach out to me directly I will be more than happy to explain in more detail.

Good luck with your bidding

crimpdoc asked about fees

As of 9.15pm Wednesday the bid is £83,000 and so the buyer would pay £88,976 i.e. more than the seller's declared 'dealer offer'
If the auction closes at £90,000 (people always bid last minute/second) the buyer will have to pay £96,480.

The dealer has, presumably (as dealers aren't stupid) seen the car, but I was told few people bidding here go to see cars they bid on. I know mad isn't it.

I went to see a car (another car) and learnt it had been fire damaged. I did go on to buy a car at auction and 7 months later I'm still fixing undeclared problems - just saying.

At least from a valuation point of view, were the hammer to drop at 83, 90 or whatever, it is clear that is the car's value and the figure is a reliable statistic for insurance purposes - that is if the seller or auction house doesn't hide the sale price after the auction closes.

Hi Robi,

Dropped it in for a service on Tuesday - Happy to report no smell of burning and the mechanic didn’t mention any fire damage. I’ll keep my extinguisher handy just in case mind…

The car’s here, fully documented, and anyone welcome to come kick the tyres. Best of luck with your ongoing repairs - Let me know if you fancy getting your wallet out and placing a bid 😉 💰

Great news the car has been successfully serviced. For transparency the garage has picked up a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitor System) warning. All 4 tyres are in good health and pressure. The seller has arranged for the garage to investigate and remedy at his cost for the winning buyer
