Porsche sales down for 2025

Porsche experienced a decline in sales by ten percent last year, as the German sports car manufacturer encountered lower-than-expected demand for its electric models and faced difficulties in the Chinese market.
The company sold 279,449 vehicles, a decrease from 310,718 in 2024. This represented the sharpest decline in sales since 2009, during the global financial crisis, when deliveries fell by 13.7 percent.
The downturn highlights the challenges ahead for the new Porsche chief executive, Michael Leiters, who assumed leadership at the beginning of the year.
The company has initiated a restructuring programme aimed at reducing production capacity and is engaged in discussions with trade unions in Germany regarding further cost-saving measures.
Last year, Porsche was compelled to make an expensive adjustment to its model range, refocusing on petrol and hybrid models and postponing plans for new electric vehicles due to weak demand.
The sales decline was partly attributed to “supply gaps” for the 718 and the Macan, its bestselling model, according to a statement by sales chief Matthias Becker.
Porsche ceased selling petrol versions of both models in Europe because they failed to meet EU cybersecurity regulations and opted not to develop replacements that would comply with the new standards.

Not surprised really. My first and only experience of a Porsche dealership was a couple of years ago.
Went in to buy a Macan, arriving in an old shape Defender.
Dealer basically refused to help me until I let him look in my bank account to prove I could afford it.
Told them what I thought of that and went to Landrover and purchased a Discovery.
Not sure if that kind of snobbery is just from my local dealer, but I am certainly never going back.

To be honest I am surprised it is only 10% given USA tarrifs / the ev mess ( mostly to be fit of government changing legislation ) China etc.
As above most Porsche dealers are staggeringly arrogant in the sales process. I had a Range Rover sport that was about to be non ulez so needed a new car. Drove a Cayenne. Sale perpendicular never even called. That said Range Rover were the same as were Audi.
