My in laws are plotting an en masse family trip to Abu Dhabi this Christmas.

I’ve never been to any of the Emirates and to be honest it’s never been on my radar.

We’ve 15 and 18 year old sons tagging along.

Genuinely is it any good? My 5 mins of research yields various theme parks and an offshoot of the Louvre so I figure it will fill five days or so.

Any tips?

We ve done the last 3x Xmas holidays at the Jumeriah on Saadiyat Island and we’re booked for this Xmas again.

Beaches are amazing on Saadiyat and plenty to do at Yas Island with all the theme parks etc as you say.

It is deepest winter there in December so you can get some windy days but also the weather can be 25-28 degrees on the good days.

There is plenty to do and it's much less in your face than Dubai. I found it calm, clean and relaxing. Uber is plentiful and cheap too.

I'd imagine it will be absolutely lovely that time of year. Did Dubai this xmas/ new year and it was mid and high 20's which was great for being able to still go for a walk, move about and do things.
