We have a reolink POE CCTV system. 8 channel unit. Currently using 7 of them. About to add an eighth camera after completing a bit of building work.

Anyone have any thoughts on the twin lens tracking type ones vs the regular type of 'fixed' cameras? All the other cameras are fixed or zoom type which are fixed at a specific zoom length. They work fine but just wondering if I'm missing out a bit by not having a fancy moving one.

Also curious as to how the twin lens thing work through 1 channel?

I can’t give an answer but would be curious to know if you do try one as I use a few of the normal Reolink cameras as well thumbup

We've got two of the "moving" Reolink TrackMix and a couple of the normal ones (RLC-811WA).
The moving one on the front of the house is pretty good at tracking/zooming when someone (or an animal) walks on to the driveway and tracks well though the quality is not quite as good as the standard cameras "fixed".

I picked up a couple of cheap WiFi ptz cameras from AliExpress, they have motion tracking, Nightvision etc brilliant pieces of kit, though they are nearly £20 each delivered.

I have a Trackmix tracker, and other ones too.

It /does/ track, but if you're expecting serious opposition, it a) might not be pointing the right way at the start and b) can be outwitted once it's followed them for a short period. It is also trivial for a criminal to check if it's "working", whereas others are harder (ignoring thermal giveaways). So it wouldn't work in the Panopticon!

It's a good enough device, but 99% of mine are the simpler "point at interesting area" types, which just work, and have no moving parts to worry about.

Bit late here but do you all recommend the Reolink cameras then?

It would be nice to see the quality in the flesh in shops but the only places i can see them are online on Amazon.

I've had 5 REOLINK cameras for about 5 years ... two PoE fixed and three WIFI pan/tilt/zoom and I been very pleased with them...Use them via Android Tablets, Samsung Phone and Windows PCs.

They’re well built, easy to integrate and use and the solar charging is easily up to the job. That was my main concern, but it’s been brilliant.
I found the initial set up a bit of a faff, but once it was done it has been faultless since.

I have Reolink and the biggest problem is the doorbell doesn't seem to obey the exclude region on the motion detection. A search online suggests its a common problem but I've upgraded to the latest firmware and its no better.
