Anyone have any recommendations for some quirky one or two day UK destination stay and getaways please
Significant other recuperating from cancer and good for us to enjoy some occasional treats esp when the weather gets warmer?

Just looking about places like https://www.oneoffplaces.co.uk/romantic-getaways?m...
Any other places you guys seen?
I don't care if its hotel, cabin or posh / unusual characterful hotel. Not looking to travel too far so ideally 100Mi from Northamptonshire area, doesn't have to be by the lakes or sea.

We have a well behaved dog so would try to accomodate unless got someone to look after him briefly.
If its got on suite bath etc, hottub and other perks would be useful.
Not too bothered but cost, whilst also like to try to get value for money if I can, its just in my blood? biggrin Prob 2-300 a night would be what I would think as a max worth spending unless its truly exceptional and unique.

Got something nice booked around August when we are seeing Opeth/Katatonia/Paradise Lost at a great looking Piece Hall Halifax venue and just looking at doing a few more stays like this as much as we can.
If there are bands like that playing to watch around the time would be a perk but not essential.

Glamping side seems ok, though I do find this quite expensive compared to proper bricks and mortar properties with proper facilities (they seem to get a bit of a pasting on four in a bed shows) but could be ok if the property is really unusual
If I recall we have stayed in a ex lighthouse type of thing etc, apartments looking straight out to the sea, wood lake cabins etc, cottages having used played like holidayscottages for decades so stayed at quite a few places, wonder if there are some even more unusual romantic places still worth experiencing.

Fantastic idea thank you, never been, just shot down by being not dog friendly which may be a deal breaker, wanting to keep him with us probably

There's quite an array of interesting and unique properties on the Landmark Trust. https://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/

Stayed in a few of them now and they've been great.

We tend to use https://www.canopyandstars.co.uk/

Great little company that genuinely handpicks properties. One of the very few companies that I completely trust. No matter which property I pick on their site, they'll be something special and memorable about it.

ETA re landmark trust, The Ruin is a magical place https://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/properties/ruin/
