My daughter would like to visit Paris, not Disney, and I was thinking that taking the campervan could be a more economical option. Can anyone recommend a campsite that isn't too far from the city centre?

When my lad and I went to watch the rugby in Paris a few years ago now, we stayed here...

Handy for local shops, eateries. They used to do a shuttle bus to the Metro so worth checking. Also they were part of the ACSI scheme as well so worth checking too depending on when you are going.

Yes, that is the closest campsite to the city centre, it isn't a cheap campsite but very convenient. I stayed there last August and the shuttle bus was running then (a midnight taxi back from the Eiffel Tower was 16€). You could walk to the centre of Paris from there, although the Bois de Boulogne is a bit infamous for the ladies of the night so I wouldn't recommend that after dark.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I've managed to get a small apartment in Montmatre and Eurostar tickets for less than the ferry, fuel and pitch costs!

I always ask in a few places to see if I get similar responses!
