Our Worcester Bosch combi Greenstar 32 cdi boiler is 17 yr old and had died over the weekend.

We have quotes with 2 boiler options:-

W100 Viessmann 35kw combi boiler 12 yr warranty

Worcester Greenstar 4000 30kw 10 yr warranty

Which option would you choose if price were similar?

And yes I'd prefer not to be replacing it with a combi but needs must!

Check the flow rates: I’d wager that the 35kW will deliver much more hot water which is what you want, especially if you’ll have multiple outlets open at the same time.

I m not a huge fan of Viessmann boilers. WB were my go to brand for years but not so much these days, their customer/tech support services aren’t what they used to be. Full of plastic components too.
Vaillant Ecofit Pure or Ecotec are decent, Ecotec is a bigger appliance & has a stainless steel heat exchanger. Some plastic bits in there but mostly brass.
Baxi 830/836 are good boilers, stainless steel & brass inards. 10 year warranty. I ve been fitting these or Vaillant recently. The 600 range is also worth a look, identical internally to the 800 but with a 7 yr warranty, fair bit cheaper also.

Our Viessmann was installed 2009 and still going strong.

I keep thinking it must be due replacing soon but the service guy tells me there is no reason to change it just because it’s old.
