2001 X308 Body Processor Module for rear lights

Morning all. I have a 2001 4.0 Sovereign. Failed the MOT on rear lights not working and left me a bit confused.
Number plate, brake, reverse and indicators all fine just not the tail lights.
Anyway following changing every bulb, checking the light units and lots of swearing I found a few online comments suggesting the Body Processor Module often fails causing this issue. Looked online and have found one which arrives soon. Was relatuvely cheap compared to paying an hourly rate to do the same.
Questions are - Has anyone had similar and fixed it by changing the BPM and is it fairly easy as it looks to be??
I'm ok with the spanners but waiting for the weather to clear up as no inside space left!!
