I've been looking at ads for the above Jeep. Took one for a test ride a year or so back and was impressed with it power and smoothness. They fall into my price range as a potential replacement for my WJ.

I've only done a small amount of reading, enough to know there has been engine problems (shared across the Dodge range stateside I understand) like blocked intakes due to the EGR system ? Even total engine failures at low mileages.

The air ride can give problems, and needs maintenance. But does anyone have anything to add, real world experiences.
There getting 10 years old now, what are the all the common problems, are there fixes out there?
How do you check one over before buying ? I do my own maintenance, so what am I letting myself in for !

Any advise welcome.

Cheers

LOL, well I was just going to post an update about mine, so here goes.

December 2015 3l, last of the none ad blue. Done 26k miles in my ownership (now on 87k) and it has cost me.......£4300 in repairs & servicing. Brakes all round, front suspension air bags, air suspension pump, front ball joints, a few rear suspension arms, an exhaust sensor. However it now has a clean MOT and everything is fixed. I was gonna post up if I should keep or move on. I have replaced the troublesome bits, do I run it to death, better the devil you know, or get out and get something else (don't laugh, I have an RR L322 itch to scratch!!)

Oh and getting an EGR delete is a must, did mine soon after I got it and cleaned out the intake of soot.
