How bloody good did that AMV8 sound?

An ad break after 5 mins is not good though...

The Exige 240R should batter the 997S, I just don't think she was driving it properly. Maybe lost her bottle and didn't carry enough speed into the corners. I've seen plenty of Lotus drivers cane it round appearing to be faster than that.

I'm pleased to say I think Top Gear has some competition at last

was it just me that thought the new format and content was a big pile of poo?

vb-h was the only reason, and even she's mucked her hair up

Its a blatant top gear rip off, but at least its an hour now, (although it didn't feel like it), and a bit more entertaining. I wonder if Vicki will be doing all the driving for the track times? Seems a bit unfair with different drivers.

scared but happy

I enjoyed this no end. It kept my attention from beginning to end..Unlike Top Gear that stuggles for content (sometimes) and just shows arty bits as a filler.

Ok the 'office' scenes were obvoiusly rehearsed but what the hell. 8/10.

Liked the fact it was an hour long. Didn't like the format though!

The bits in the Fifth Gear HQ were a bit too cheesy, and as someone pointed out, rather a rip-off of Top Gear. As for the comment about TG's track... grow up!

Lucky Mr Plato though, getting to play in the Harrier.

I just got to have me one of those AMV8's. Love it!

I only caught a bit of tonights show and it was just as she was about to test the Exige with the Carrera S. I have no idea which came out best but unless they did a variety of testing it surely can't be a fair comparison. The Exige may have less power but it's lighter so should whip the porsche's ass on a twisty track, however the extra power of the carrera S would probably do better on a longer straighter track.

What was done and who came out the winner?

straight back to back and the porsche won...

imo though the supercharged 4 of the exige sounded so much nicer!

Thought it was pretty crap to be honest - Tiff was up to scratch as per usual but IMO Plato is a 'full of himself' tosser and the Porsche vs Exige feature was void of any content, what a missed opportunity. Yet they really focussed on that geezer (sorry don't know his name) buying an F1 Schumacher seat???

Thought the 240R would have taken the Porker - perhaps VBH butt ruined the Exige's power out of light weight design?

Top Gear has it's faults - remember when they invited their Mums to review the city cars, nearly lost the will to live... but... it's a far better production on the whole...
